专利说明:

[0001] The invention relates to an electronic unit for measuring operating parameters of a vehicle wheel, comprising an electronic box and an inflation valve. More and more motor vehicles have tire pressure monitoring systems comprising electronic boxes mounted on each of the wheels of the vehicles, dedicated to the measurement of parameters, such as pressure and / or temperature of the tires fitted to these wheels, and intended to inform the driver of any abnormal variation of the measured parameter. The current solution most commonly used to secure the electronic boxes on the wheel rims consists of producing electronic units each composed of: a "snap-in" type inflation valve comprising: a valve body made of an elastomeric material, provided with a longitudinal axial bore and intended to extend through an orifice 15 formed in the rim, said valve body being composed of an elastically deformable trunk and an abutment head against the rim, separated from the trunk by a neck adapted to be positioned in a sealed manner in the orifice formed in said rim, and a hollow rigid tube extending in the valve body, extended by an assembly section in the extension of the stop head of said valve body, said valve body and said rigid tube being designed and assembled so as to allow an elastic deformation of the trunk of the valve body adapted to allow the e mounting of the inflation valve through the orifice of the rim, - an electronic box, - and means for securing the electronic box on the assembly section of the rigid tube of the inflation valve, in a position of said electronic box where the latter extends in the extension of said valve 30 of inflation. On the basis of this principle, a first technique consists in fixing the electronic unit, for example by screwing, on the end of the assembly section of the cylindrical tube of the inflation valve. This technique has the advantage of providing a robust assembly, but, on the other hand, it imposes to provide a space of several millimeters between the electronic unit and the inflation valve in order to allow the deformations of the latter during the assembly of the electronic unit on a wheel rim. However, such a distance causes a significant phenomenon of unbalance which leads to significantly reduce the dynamic performance of such electronic units. A second technique consists in producing electronic boxes equipped with an assembly sleeve capable of sliding along the assembly section of the rigid tube of the inflation valve, and in equipping each electronic unit with means for securing the electronic box. and the inflation valve adapted to secure them, after mounting the inflation valve on a rim, in a position of the electronic housing where the latter extends in the direct extension of the inflation valve. This technique makes it possible to increase the dynamic performance of the electronic units because the electronic boxes are positioned in the direct extension of the inflation valves. By cons, at the present time, the fastening members of the inflation valve and the electronic box consist of fasteners 15 such as clip, elastic ring, spring ring type "lyre" crimping collar "0- clamp ", screw clamp, lock plate ..., susceptible, with a probability, not negligible, to be damaged or even unlocked, during assembly and disassembly of a tire. In addition, a majority of these fasteners require specific tools for their introduction and removal, and therefore lead, in addition, to complicate the steps of assembly and disassembly of electronic units. The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and its main objective is to provide an electronic unit with means for securing the electronic box and the inflation valve not likely to be damaged or unlocked during assembly and / or disassembly of a tire, while being adapted to maintain the electronic unit in a position where it extends in direct extension of the inflation valve. Another object of the invention is to provide an electronic unit whose means for securing the electronic box and the inflation valve are easily accessible and operable by means of a simple ordinary tool. For this purpose, the invention provides an electronic unit for measuring operating parameters of a vehicle wheel, comprising: an inflation valve adapted to be secured to a wheel rim, comprising: a compound valve body a trunk and an abutment head separated by an annular throat-shaped neck, - and a hollow rigid tube extending into the valve body, extended by an assembly section in the extension of the stopper head of said valve body, - an electronic box provided with an assembly sleeve adapted to house the assembly section of the rigid tube, - and means for securing the electronic box and the inflation valve, in a position of said electronic box where the latter extends in the direct extension of said inflation valve. According to the invention, the means for securing the electronic box and the inflation valve comprise: an annular piece housed in the neck of the valve body, extended by at least one connecting branch between said annular piece and the electronic box, extending externally along the stopper head and in the extension of said stopper head, 15 - fasteners of the connecting branch on the electronic housing. According to the invention, the means for securing the electronic box and the inflation valve thus comprise an annular piece mounted on the inflation valve by using the longitudinal and radial elastic deformation faculties of the trunk of said inflation valve, so that to be housed in the annular groove and to be positioned 20 enter the rim and the stop head of the inflation valve after assembly of the electronic unit on said rim. Because of its design and positioning, such an extended annular part of its connecting branch, on the one hand, incurring no risk of damage or unlocking during assembly and / or disassembly of a tire and, on the other hand, leads to keeping the control unit in a position where it extends in direct extension of the inflation valve. In addition, the fasteners are adapted to ensure the attachment of the connecting branch on the electronic housing and, in the first place, are therefore easily accessible, and secondly may consist of fasteners of any usual type maneuverable by means of an ordinary tool. As an advantageous embodiment, these fasteners may thus consist of a threaded pin secured by screwing into an orifice formed in the connecting branch and a blind bore formed in the electronic housing. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the annular piece 35 has an internal diameter substantially smaller than the diameter of the bottom of the annular groove, so as to anchor in said groove bottom.
[0002] This arrangement makes it possible to increase the active resistance surface of the annular piece without, however, risking to disturb the tightness imparted by the anchoring, to a substantial depth, of the rim in the annular groove at the orifice of the said rim in which is housed the inflation valve.
[0003] In addition, the annular piece has a conjugated outer diameter of the diameter of the stopper head, adapted so that said annular piece is flush with the peripheral face of the stopper head, so as to optimize the active resistance surface of the annular piece without creation of zones that can be hung during the assembly or disassembly of a tire.
[0004] For the same purpose of producing an annular piece having no projecting zones that can be hooked by a tire, the annular part is, according to the invention, advantageously oriented so that the connecting branch extends laterally relative to to the rigid hollow tube, so as to be secured to a side wall of the electronic housing.
[0005] Furthermore, according to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the annular piece is extended by a second connecting branch with the electronic box, extending externally along the stop head, the said connecting branch and the electronic box being provided with complementary assembling members by interlocking.
[0006] This second connection branch constitutes a second anchoring point of the annular piece with the electronic unit which makes it possible to balance the forces to which said annular piece is subjected. In addition, in order to optimize this balancing of the forces stressing the annular part, the two connecting branches, respectively securing the electronic box and the inflation valve, and interlocking assembly, are advantageously according to the invention. , diametrically opposed. In addition, always with the aim of producing an annular piece having no protruding areas that can be hung by a tire, the stopper head of the inflation valve comprises a peripheral wall in which, according to the invention, is advantageously provided, for each connecting leg, a longitudinal groove, adapted to accommodate the portion of said connecting leg extending along the stop head. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the detailed description which follows with reference to the accompanying drawings which represent by way of non-limiting example a preferred embodiment. In these drawings: FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section through an axial plane A of FIG. 2, representing an electronic unit according to the invention, and FIG. 2 is a perspective view of this electronic unit. The electronic unit according to the invention represented by way of example in FIGS. 1 and 2 is intended to be mounted on a wheel of a vehicle in order to measure operating parameters (pressure, temperature, acceleration, etc.) of said wheel, and transmission of the measured data to a central unit mounted on the vehicle. This electronic unit consists of an electronic box 1 adapted to be mounted inside the casing of a tire, and an inflation valve 2, for securing the latter on the rim of the wheel equipped with this tire. In the first place, the inflation valve 2 consists of a "snap-in" type inflation valve comprising a valve body 3 made of an elastomer material axially pierced with a cylindrical longitudinal bore 4. In a conventional manner, this body of valve 3 is further subdivided, longitudinally, into a trunk 5 having longitudinal and radial elastic deformation faculties, and an abutment head 6 delimited by a front abutment face 6a and a peripheral annular face 6b, said trunk 5 and stopper head 6 being separated by a neck 7 having the shape of an annular groove having a cylindrical bottom wall 11, and delimited by two shoulders: a shoulder 12 joining the trunk 5, and a radial shoulder 13 In addition, the stopper head 6 has two diametrically opposed longitudinal grooves 9, 10 formed in its peripheral wall 6b. The longitudinal bore 4 of the valve body 3 comprises, meanwhile, a first section 4a extending inside the trunk 5, and a second section 4b extending from the neck 7, greater in diameter than the of the first section 4a. This second section 4b is, furthermore, extended by a cylindrical chamber 8 of greater diameter, separated from said second section by a radial shoulder 8a, and opening into the end wall 6a of the stopper head 6. The inflation valve 2 further comprises a hollow tubular core consisting of a rigid tube 14 of conjugated outer diameter of the inner diameter of the first section 4a of the bore 4, whose central section 14b housed in the valve body 2 is extended: a threaded portion 14a for screwing a protective cap, in the extension of the trunk 5 of the valve body 2, - a section 14c of the same diameter in the extension of the stopper head 6. The housing The electronic unit 1 of the electronic unit consists, meanwhile, of a hollow housing 15 for housing the "electronics" of the electronic unit, surmounted by a dome 16 delimited by a front wall 16a of abutment against the front wall 6a of the you stop 6, and two longitudinal side walls 16b, 16c. This dome 16 is further traversed longitudinally by a sleeve 17 arranged to extend partially in the extension of the abutment face 16a of said dome, and having a front orifice 18 at its opposite end for deflation air flow or inflation of the tire. This sleeve 17 has, in addition, an internal diameter and a length adapted to accommodate the section 14c of the cylindrical tube 14, and to abut against the shoulder 8a of the cylindrical chamber 8, in a position where the abutment face 6a the stopper head 6 and the stopper head 16a of the dome 16 are in contact with each other. The dome 16 further comprises a blind bore 19 formed in one of its two side walls 16c, and a keeper 20 in the form of a bow projecting from its second side wall 16b. The securing means of the electronic box 1 and the inflation valve 2 comprise, for their part, a connecting piece 21 composed in one piece: - an annular piece 22 of internal diameter substantially smaller than the diameter of the bottom groove 11, adapted so that said annular piece is anchored in said groove bottom, and of conjugated external diameter of the diameter of the abutment head 6, - two diametrically opposite connecting branches 23, 25 extending externally along the abutment head 6, each in one of the grooves 9, 10, and in the extension of said abutment head towards the electronics housing 1. One of these two connecting branches 23 intended to be secured to the housing 1, is pierced with a threaded orifice 24 adapted to be positioned opposite the bore 19 formed in the side face 16c of the dome 16, so as to allow said connecting piece to be secured to the housing er electronic 1 by means of a pin 27 conjugate of the bore 19, with a threaded portion for its screwing into the orifice 24, and 30 whose front face is pierced with an impression 28 for a screwdriver . The other connecting leg 25 intended to be assembled by interlocking with the electronic box 1, comprises, in turn, a hook-shaped end 26 adapted to fit into the striker 20. In order to achieve a unit According to the invention, a first step is to mount the connecting piece 21 to the valve body 2 by using the longitudinal and radial elastic deformation of the trunk 5 of said inflation valve, so as to bring the annular piece 22 to be housed in the annular groove forming the neck 7. For example, for an inflation valve 2, the groove bottom 11 has a diameter of the order of 15 mm, intended to be mounted on a rim whose mounting hole of said inflation valve has a diameter of the order of 11 mm to 12 mm, the selected inner diameter of the annular piece 22 is of the order of 13 mm to obtain an anchor of the piece an nular 22 in the bottom of the groove 11, without, however, disturbing the imperviousness imparted by the anchoring, to a greater depth, of the rim in the said bottom of the groove.
[0007] Once this assembly has been completed, the realization of the electronic unit simply requires: - assembling the inflation valve 2 and the electronic unit 1 by fitting the end section 14c of the cylindrical tube 14 in the sleeve 17, and interlocking the hook of the connecting branch 25 in the striker 20, - then to lock this assembly by screwing the pin 27. The electronic unit obtained has the advantage of being constituted by an inflation valve 2 and an electronic box 1 maintained in a position where it extends in the direct extension of said inflation valve, by securing means not likely to be deteriorated or unlocked during assembly and / or disassembly of a tire, while by being adapted to maintain the electronic unit in a position where it extends in direct extension of the inflation valve. In addition, these securing means consist of a simple pin 27 easily accessible and operable by screwing.
